After studying at Harrow School of Art, I set up my first pottery studio in Sheffield in the 1980s (the image above of me and my daughter at a craft fair in the late 1980s shows some of my early work). I then moved to the Hope Valley where I taught family and adult pottery classes for Derbyshire County Council for 30 years. I also spent over 25 years teaching pottery as a creative therapy at a mental health hospital in Rotherham and studied for an MSc in Art as Environment at Manchester Metropolitan University.

In 2019, I set up Creative Pottery, a studio and gallery at Hope Valley Garden Centre, Derbyshire. Here, I offer a wide range of classes to suit all ages, abilities and experience levels. I am also passionate about creating pottery myself and display and sell a range of my pieces, some created to demonstrate techniques during student lessons.
