CREATIVE POTTERY: SHARING THE GIFT OF CREATIVITY
Pottery classes suitable for all and ceramics art gallery
run by Lee Waterman
I teach pottery classes for all ages and abilities and create handmade pottery at my Derbyshire studio, Creative Pottery.
The Creative Pottery studio is run by me, Lee Waterman. I am a local potter with over 30 years experience in teaching and creating pottery. I teach classes to suit people of all ages, abilities and walks of life - from toddlers to octogenarians. I offer creative, fun, unique lessons on a one-to-one or small group basis at a length and skill level to suit you. I also create pottery for sale in many different forms and styles, from classic everyday designs to collectable fine arts, including commissions.
To discuss my classes, book a session or purchase an item not yet available on my online shop, please call or email me. Visit my Facebook page to see recent updates and customer reviews. Visit my online shop to browse pottery for sale.
It is important with the lip of the jug that it's able to cut the water off, so you don't get too many dribbles!

LATEST UPDATES
My online shop remains open during lockdown.
Please visit my online shop while my studio is closed during lockdown, as I will be frequently adding new products. These can be shipped within the UK or collected for free by arrangement from the Creative Pottery gallery. Visit my shop to browse the items.
When lockdown ends, I remain committed to keeping everyone safe, so will ask all visitors to follow these steps:
-
If you feel unwell or if you/anyone you know has had any coronavirus symptoms in the last 14 days, please don’t enter the studio. You won’t be charged for cancelling or rearranging a lesson
-
Please call out or ring the bell and I will let you know when to come in
-
Please use the hand sanitiser near the door as you enter and feel free to use it again at any point
-
Please wear a face mask (I have locally-made masks available to purchase for £2.50 if needed)
-
Please keep at least a 1 metre distance from other people, ideally 2 metres
-
Please only handle items you plan to buy
-
If possible, please pay by card rather than cash
-
Please wash your hands regularly during your lesson – you’ll need to wash the clay off anyway
-
If you are vulnerable, but interested in buying pottery or having a lesson, I offer outdoor lessons (weather permitting) and can bring out pottery for you to look at and purchase outside
-
Enjoy your visit to Creative Pottery!
I am following these steps myself, have an enhanced cleaning system between customers and have built a screen to separate the teaching area from the gallery.
It has to be nice and smooth so a spoon can scoop in it easily
